Foiling is the system of underwater wings that lifts a boat or board completely clear of the surface, eliminating drag and reaching speeds that conventional sailing cannot touch. It is the most significant shift in sailing technology in a generation, and Foiling Week was created to give it a home.

Where the foiling world shows up
The first and unique global event committed to the amazingly fast foiling boats and boards, their sailors, designers, manufacturers and … followers.
Many sailors began here before becoming Olympic, America’s Cup, and SailGP champions. Foiling Week features public trials of boats and equipment, technical forums, and an expo. Evening entertainment completes an unforgettable experience for the international Foiling Community.

Twelve editions in Italy. Events in Australia, the United States and Saudi Arabia. Over the years, Foiling Week has grown into the sport’s most consistent gathering point: athletes, manufacturers, designers, press, sponsors and a community of enthusiasts who follow foiling wherever it goes.
A WORLD SAILING SPECIAL EVENT
In 2021, World Sailing awarded Foiling Week the status of Special Event. It is a recognition granted to a small number of events globally, by the International Federation that governs the sport at Olympic level. For foiling, it marks Foiling Week as the sport’s flagship gathering, making it what Grand Slam tournaments represent for tennis.

Racing is at the centre of Foiling Week, but the event is built around much more: on-water trials open to beginners, an expo area for new products and technologies, forums where industry professionals share knowledge, social initiatives tied to causes the community and us care about, and an entertainment programme that makes the week as enjoyable off the water as on it.

You do not need to be a sailor to come to Foiling Week. Every edition, the venue opens up to anyone who wants to get closer to the sport, on their own terms, whatever their starting point. Watch the fleet fly past from a spectator boat. Go behind the scenes of the boats and the equipment. Get into an AC40’s simulator. Or… step onto a foiling hull with an instructor and find out what this technology actually feels like from the inside.
EXPO
The Foiling Week Expo gives brands, manufacturers and innovators a direct line to press, athletes and an engaged public. New products and technologies are shown in context, at an event where the people in the water are the same people making buying and partnership decisions.
SOCIAL EVENTS
The programme on shore is taken as seriously as the one on the water. Evening events, cultural moments and community gatherings are built into every edition, and they are what makes the week something people return to year after year.
