FOILING WEEK MALCESINE 2026

ABOUT THE EVENT

June 27th – July 05th, 2026

Fraglia Vela Malcesine, Lake Garda – Italy

FRAGLIA VELA MALCESINE, OLYMPIC SAILING EXCELLENCE

A club that has in its DNA the creation of regattas of excellence. Here’s where Olympic classes have always been trained and boats destined to make sailing history are tested.

LAKE GARDA, OUR FOILING ARENA

The regularity of its sparkling wind conditions, together with the quality of the hospitality services and infrastructures ashore, make Lake Garda one of the most exciting locations for sailors worldwide.

MALCESINE, HOME OF THE OUTDOORS

Worldwide lovers of the outdoors have chosen it as a reference point for the incredible variety of disciplines that can be practiced in the area.

CHALLENGING CLASSES

Foiling Week brings together the full spectrum of foiling — from high-performance sailboats to electric and pump-powered boards. Each class represents a different way to fly, united by speed, innovation and pure adrenaline on the water.

THIS SUMMER ON LAKE GARDA, FLY ABOVE THE WATER

Foiling lifts boats and boards a metre above the surface. They glide in silence, at twice the wind speed. This summer at Foiling Week in Malcesine, we bring you inside it.
Our experience programme opens to everyone visiting Lake Garda. No prior sailing knowledge required.
Five ways in, from the shoreline to the cockpit:

  • Spectator boat along the racing course, with live expert commentary
  • Tech visit behind the scenes
  • AC40 simulator, the same cockpit used by America’s Cup professionals
  • Birdyfish session, the simplest foiling sailboat, with an instructor onboard
  • E-JetCycle ride, a foiling bicycle that lifts above the water

Watch it. Understand it. Try it. Fly it.

Racing Clinics

One of the most exciting new additions to Foiling Week Malcesine 2026: We Are Foiling Head of Performance Giulia Conti will be on site throughout the week, working directly with competitors across three classes: WASZP Fleet 8.2 on 29 June, Switch on 30 June, and Moth on 3, 4 and 5 July.

Each racing day will be structured around three key moments: a pre-race briefing,on water data acquisition, and a post-race debrief. The briefing and debrief sessions are dedicated to the top 8 sailors in the standings, while remaining open to all competitors on site.

What makes this programme stand out is its performance analysis component. Race analysis will be powered by Ktool, with performance data collected from the top 8 sailors and reviewed in detail after each racing day.

Briefing and debrief timings will be confirmed daily based on the racing schedule and communicated through the official event WhatsApp group.

Workshops

The workshop programme at Foiling Week Malcesine 2026 brings focused, expert-led sessions into the heart of the week, running alongside the regatta for competitors and visitors alike.

This year’s sessions include a rig check with Gottifredi Maffioli’s Sveva Carraro, and a practical guide to getting the most from your sailing instruments with kTool. More workshops to be announced.

Trials

Foiling Week has always been a place where people come to understand foiling. The trials programme is the most direct expression of that: a chance for anyone at the event to get on the water and experience firsthand what this strange, addictive sport actually feels like.

Throughout the event, a selection of boards and Switch equipment is available for free trials on Lake Garda. Knowledgeable riders will be there to help you get started and answer whatever you throw at them. No prior experience needed.

Slots are limited. Registration opens soon.

MORE THAN JUST A RACE

A hundred-plus Moths on the start line is one side of Foiling Week, the other is the conversation that starts dockside and carries on over dinner. While Moths zip by on the water, you might be sipping wine during a local tasting session while chatting about flap angle tweaks with an Olympic medalist. Next to you, a journalist comparing notes with a naval architect between two ocean race campaigns.

That mix is not accidental. Foiling Week draws the people who make this sport move, and it puts them in the same place at the same time.

If you come to compete, you will be pushed. If you come to learn, you will find people worth listening to. If you come for the atmosphere, you will not be short of it.
